Functional Medicine Care

My approach to your health & well-being

When the body is functioning properly, you feel energized and focused, with a balanced mood, and the immune strength to keep your body going through the ups and downs of life.

Many things can offset this process. Stress, poor nutrition, environmental toxins, genetics, and lifestyle can all play a role in your health. Sometimes finding the cause of illness can be very challenging.

I believe in a whole-body, patient-centered approach to healthcare.  Illness can be a complex web that involves multiple body systems. It is my job to unravel these connections and educate you so that you understand how you arrived at your current state of health. This will empower you to make the changes needed to heal and lead a more vibrant life.

Where do I start?

  • Upload results of any labs performed within the previous 6 -12 months. Once forms are completed, schedule an appointment for a New Functional Medicine Consult (one hour). This may be via Zoom or in person if a lab draw is recommended.

  • Begin your functional medicine journey during this 1 hour health consult with the practitioner. We will review your health history, and any prior labs that you have provided as well as your main health goals. If there are any traditional or functional labs that are recommended we will discuss them and make a plan for collection. Your practitioner will outline a preliminary protocol so that you can start the healing process as you await your lab results.

  • Spend up to 1 hour reviewing any labs that were previously ordered and tweaking your protocol if needed to align with your lab results and health goals. You will have a better understanding of any imbalances in the body and will feel empowered to make the changes needed to improve your health.

  • Patients that have completed the first 3 steps and are following a Functional Medicine protocol receive complimentary 15 min follow up sessions for the first 3 months. Recommended intervals are at 3 weeks, 6 weeks, and 12 weeks. If repeat labs are done during this time the lab review session is discounted. You will have access to the live chat feature as well for regular communication with your provider. After 3 months you may sign up for the concierge wellness membership for continued access to the live chat and follow up sessions or you may choose to schedule consults on an as needed basis, whichever best suits your needs.

Insurance:

Functional Medicine services are generally not covered by Insurance, and our office does not bill your insurance directly. However, we will provide a receipt and superbill that you can send to your insurance carrier. If reimbursed, the payment will be sent directly to you.
